From Joan:

My husband and I moved from Brooklyn, New York to just outside Santa Fe, New Mexico. I’ve now got urban and high desert in me. I like that a lot. As always, I’ve been writing. I finished the screenplay of my book, Hope Was Here, well on its way to becoming an indie film. I finished the musical adaptation of my first YA novel, Squashed. I finished my first novel for adult readers, a story of a singer/songwriter trying to find her voice when everything in her past comes crashing in. Big change changes us. Coyotes howl at night here, I’m learning to bake at high altitude, I’m learning to not need street lights to find my way home. I will forever love Brooklyn, but these sunsets, these sunrises… God is surely showing off.
